NOTE: if the link was opened in the browser despite having the app installed, the solutions may be as follows.

On Android 12+, you may need to enable links in the device settings / Apps / MandelBrowser / Set as default.

It's also possible that an app or a website displaying the link prevents deep links (as they use redirection to track the links you click). In that case, you can copy the link or even the whole message (if the app allows it) and use the Import / Paste Location Link option from the app's action menu to open it.
